Ive heard that ford rims will fit Jeeps and Jeep rims will fit fords. The 5 lug rims at least. I tried puttin my mudders on the old 78' F150 so I could take that up huntin and they were spaced too much to fit.

My dads 94' F150 has lugs that are closer together like my Jeeps, and he was tellin me that a guy he works with said they would match. They sure look alike. The reason I ask is because if I get a Ford 9' axle out of a later model pickup, can I use the same rims I have now?
My rims are Rock Krawler Series 51 15X8. I dont think this is right but could someone affirm it for me? I don't know about the truck rims, but my XJ and Mustang have the same bolt pattern.
Reason I know is I got bored one day and decided to see if my old 16' Mustang rims (which don't fit over the Mustang's big brakes now) would fit on the Jeep. The answer is yes, the bolt pattern is the same. However, the Mustang's hub is a bit smaller, so the rim won't fit over the Jeep front hub. However, that does mean that Jeep rims will fit on a Ford nicely. +1 When i had a 91 Explorer to beat on for awhile as well as an XJ i tried the explorer wheels on the XJ but they wouldnt fit due to the smaller hub size on the ford. To expand a bit on what has already been said, older model Fords, and most larger, new models with a 5-lug pattern, use a '5X5.5' lug pattern.
This means 5 lugs, with 5.5' spacing between the lugs. The XJ, along with most other Jeep vehicles, use a 5X4.5 lug pattern. This is the same pattern used by Ford for most of their smaller vehicles with a 5-lug pattern. The 'compact' Ranger, Explorer, Mustang, etc. All use the 5X4.5 lug pattern. The only difference is that the centering hole used by Jeep is slightly larger (by an 1/8', maybe?) than the Ford 5X4.5 lug pattern's centering hole, preventing Ford wheels from fitting Jeeps. However, this is easily remedied.
Simply use a die grinder, or something like a Dremel (takes MUCH longer than a die grinder), to slightly enlarge the centering hole in the Ford wheel. Just make sure to at least apply primer to where you removed metal in the centering hole. It would really SUCK to have your newly-modded wheels to rust-weld to your hubs! There are also many other Chrysler models that use the 5X4.5 lug pattern. I Don't think there is a for sure answer in all those post.
I get some older, yes for Ford but no for jeep, etc. But there are too many contradictions and even though the wheels and tires are a great buy, I would be throwing away $150 if the jeep won't fit my Ford (2000 F150 2WD) Jeep is a 2014 Grand Cherokee (size on tire is 245 70R/17) mine is 245 60R/16. It's my understanding that I Couldn't swap tires due to the 16' vs 17'.I AM female so have mercy guys. Just please tell me if the would work. I had a horrible experience years ago with a 1967 RS/SS Camaro that had oversized wheels and tires and spacers. Constantly bought studs and feared for my life many nights when I got the urge to kick it.
Too much car for a 23 yr old 99 lb female. Miss it though.
